5 Things I Keep In My Gym Bag

Posted on Tuesday, 24 March 2020 - By Courtney

Over the past six months I've really gotten into going to the gym, doing a mixture of weights and also classes. I never wear makeup to the gym but over that six months there are a few products I've found I cannot go without.

1) Compact Tangle Teezer

I have ridiculously long hair and it knots super easily. After a workout I will quite often give my hair a quick brush before I head back out into the Wellington wind. This helps to stop it from becoming one giant matted mess.

The reason I like the compact Tangle Teezer because it's compact and fits in my bag easily. The two-tiered teeth that glide through the hair, long teeth detangle while the shorter teeth smooth. The detachable click-off, click-on cover helps to protect the teeth from bits of rubbish in my bag but also helps to keep the hair on the hair brush and not all through my bag.

2) Hurraw Lip Balm

I always get really dry lips, especially when I'm sweating and in an air conditioned environment. Hurraw lip balms are one of the few lip balms that I've really noticed make a difference in the hydration of my lips. I'll apply before a gym session and then also keep it handy for if i need it throughout my workout. They also have heaps of yummy scents and even one with an SPF!

3) Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser

I know, it seems a little excessive to take a face wash to the gym with me but after a really intense class where I've had sweat pouring down my face the first thing I want to do after that class is over is to wash my face just so I can feel a bit more clean. Instead of taking my full sized bottle with me, I pour a little bit into a travel bottle that I picked up from my local $2 store and that way I always have it on hand for if I need it.

If you know me you've probably heard me rave about this cleanser, it's honestly the best thing that's happened to my skincare routine. It's gentle enough to use over the eye area. It's a cleansing milk making it really soothing. It also doesn't remove my skin's naturally occurring oils and moisture so my face isn't left feeling really dry and tight afterwards.

4) Fable & May Rose Day Cream

I'm a girl with some good (and bad) habits, always moisturising after I cleanse my face is one of the many good habits I have. So, if I cleanse my face at the gym, I'm also going to moisturise. The Fable & May Rose Day Cream has very quickly become one of my favourites. It does what it says it'll do and it's such a fantastic price! I'm on my second (maybe third) tube of it now!

5) Foxglow Perfume Oil

I always, always get paranoid about smelling, especially after a gym session. Wellington is SO small and I always run into people I know so I don't want them to think I'm a smelly little gym rat. The Foxglow perfume oils are the best for after the gym. They're compact so don't take up much space in my bag and the scents are amazing! I pop a little bit on the back of my neck and I'm good to go! My favourite one is "Grace" which is inspired by Giorgio Armani's "Si".

Until next time,
