3 Things you NEED to do at the and of a Night Out
I love a night out and no matter how many wines I've had there are three things I ALWAYS do and will always make my friends do if they're staying at my apartment. A big night out can always leave you feeling a little (or a lot) awful so here are my top 3 tips for making the next day a little more bearable.

1). TAKE OFF YOUR MAKEUP!

This is one thing I always do and there's 3 main reasons why.

  • I have white bedding.
  • I actually can't sleep properly with makeup on, my brain will keep waking me up until I take it off.
  • Sleeping with makeup on is really bad for your skin.

The main goal isn't to do my whole skincare routine, it's just to get as much makeup off as fast and as effectively as possible. For this I enlist the help of a makeup remover that is either a balm or an oil and a soft fiber cloth with warm water.

Using oils and balms helps to breakdown my makeup way faster and with minimal effort. It also helps to breakdown any remaining eyelash glue as well!

Two of my favourite products for this are:

The reason I use a soft fiber cloth is because while I want to do the job fast and effectively, I still want to be gentle and look after my skin. I've recently purchased a pack of Face Halo which I'm loving and while they are designed to just be used with water I still prefer to use a makeup remover with them.

So, now that I've made sure that I'm not going to wake up with blocked pores and makeup all over my bedding, it's time for the next step.

2). MOISTURISE

Surely we all know how important it is for us to moisturise right? Your skin does its repair work at night while you sleep, so making sure you cleanse properly and then follow through with a moisturiser will help ensure your skin has it's best shot at being healthy. At night your skins permeability is also at it's highest meaning the ingredients in your moisturiser will be more effective and be able to be absorbed deeper within the skin.

A couple of moisturisers that I absolutely love are:

Last but not least, step 3!

3). DRINK SOME WATER

Alcohol can dehydrate you. In short, Alcohol is a diuretic It causes your body to remove fluids from your blood at a much quicker rate than other liquids. If you don't drink enough water with alcohol, you can become dehydrated quickly. Being dehydrated is also one of the main reasons for those awful hangovers.

We all know how important it is for us to be drinking water. Our organs require it to function properly and like I've mentioned in other blog posts, in the bodys organ rating system the skin is far less important than organs like the heart and brain. When your body starts becoming dehydrated your skin may become dull and more crepe.

A glass, or two, of water before bed after a night out helps the rest of your body, not just your skin.

I've included a video using some of my favourite products just to reiterate how easy it really is. If you don't already do these, give them a go next time you've had a few wines and let me know if it helped you feel a little less awful the next morning.

Till next time,
Courtney x
