My All Time Beauty Bliss Favourites
The time has sadly come for me to leave Beauty Bliss after what has been 4 years with so many changes!!

Starting off as a small retail girl in our old Willis St shop on a Saturday, to navigating working from home during lockdown, to finally making the move to a more behind-the-scenes role as we went fully online, it's been quite a journey!! It's been great to watch the business grow and grow, and with this growth, has come a tide of many new products I've been able to try. It therefore seems fitting before I go to give you a list of the my ultimate favourite products that I use from Beauty Bliss.

This task has been extremely hard as there really are so so many, so I have gone for the ones I use almost every day, and have not stopped purchasing. Here we go!!

1. Shady Slim Brow Pencil  x  Wet n Wild Mega Clear Mascara

I think this brow duo was one of my very first purchases when I started working at Beauty Bliss. It's kind of cheating because this is really two products, but I have consistently been buying + using them both over the past 4 years as they work SO well together, that they may as well be one. The Shady Slim Brow Pencil is super fine, so is perfect for creating hair like strokes to give you that natural, but full looking brow (I use the shade Soft Brown). Paired with the Wet n Wild Mega Clear Mascara which fluffs up your brows and holds them in place, this gave me the feathery eyebrows of my dreams, for the cheapest price!!

If you're not wanting to spend a fortune on your brows and love a more natural no-makeup makeup finish, this duo is for sure for you! My hot tip is that when you're using the brow pencil, only wind it up so that the smallest part of the pencil is showing - I've had wayyyy too many casualties by getting too excited and snapping the pencil right off (heart break).

2. Medki8 Night Ritual Vitamin A™

I only discovered this night cream fairly recently but I am OBSESSED! Being new to Vitamin A (retinol), I wanted a product that used a gentle formula, but still contained a reasonable potency so I would get all the beneficial effects. Medki8's Night Ritual Vitamin A™ night cream ticked all the boxes, and given the brand's pristine reputation, I knew I had to give it a try. If you're new to retinol like me, you start by slowly introducing this cream into your skin routine - apply it only twice in the first two weeks, every second day over the following two weeks, and then if no irritation has occurred, every night after that. I have pretty sensitive skin, but this cream was completely unproblematic.

I now apply Night Ritual Vitamin A every night (after my serums but before my moisturiser) using the little spatula it comes with, which is great because you're never contaminating the product with your fingers. It's been over 2 months of use, and my skin is noticeably brighter, and visibly more clear from impurities. This night cream is the perfect consistency and absorbs into your skin so easily - you don't have to wait an age for before you can apply your moisturiser which is a good thing when it's nighttime and you're tired. I think it's also included in the Mens Essential CSA Kit (which despite it saying it is for men, is really just for anyone) so I have my eye on this set as I want to try more Medik8 products before I go!

3. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Sadly for me, my skin is of the problematic variety. While Niacinamide is NOT a treatment for acne, it has been known to reduce the look of blemishes and brighten skin tone which is what I was after. It therefore was at the top of my list to try, and as I was already using the Ordinary's moisturiser (and loving it), it was pretty natural to try the brand's Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% too.

It's safe to say that after using it I have never looked back, and I don't think there will ever be a day where this product is not included in my skincare routine. I tried to count, and I think I am on my 6th or 7th bottle (I opt for 60ml size when it's in stock because it's way better value) !! I use Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% morning and night as one of the first steps in my skin routine (it's quite a light, easily absorbing formula) and have noticed that my skin texture was significantly smoother and more radiant since incorporating it. I find it great for keeping unnecessary blemishes at bay, and reducing redness of existing pimples and spots. If you have problematic skin, it's definitely worth giving this a try.

4. Carousel Foundation Buffer Brush

Like the Shady Slim, this was one of my first Beauty Bliss purchases. Carousel is Beauty Bliss' house brand, and so when choosing a foundation brush, I thought I better try their Foundation Buffer Brush before I tried anything else. Let me tell you - this brush is the BEST! I find this brush best for applying liquid foundation, but that's just personal preference. The buffer brush is super dense yet it doesn't absorb all of your product, and applies foundation flawlessly. Because the surface area of the brush is relatively wide, you can honestly cover your whole face with foundation perfectly in about 15 seconds.

I've bought this brush for me, for my mum, for my boyfriend's mum, for my friends....you get the point. Not only are they effective, but they last really well too - I usually only buy a new one because I am either too lazy to clean mine (lol that's so bad I know) or I've lost my current one. Although sometimes laziness does get the better of me, the buffer brush IS really easy to clean and dry, making them really low admin which is exactly what I am into. Retailing at $14, this brush is absolute steal, and will always be my go-to.

5.  Tangle Teezers  (all of them)

Oh heeeyyy! It's the girl who loves to brush her hair!! When it comes to hair brushes, I know my stuff, and let me tell you - Tangle Teezer's have my heart and follow me everywhere (literally). I got my first tangle teezer (the OG classic) at the ripe old age of 12, and it was love at first sight. So when I started working at Beauty Bliss and I saw we stocked the brand, it was a very very good day indeed. I marked the occasion by buying a brand new pink original detangler, which now sits proudly on my desk.

Like I alluded to above, I don't go anywhere without my hairbrush as to me, it is a handbag essential. I was therefore very excited when I got my hands on one of the Compact Stylers because it is the BEST! It's so small (so is great for your bag) but still really effective, and because it comes in a case, it doesn't get squished, leave hair all throughout your bag or collect handbag dust as it otherwise would. If I could only choose one Tangle Teezer, this would probably be it.

My next venture in the Tangle Teezer range was the Wet Dangler. My hair is thin and pretty weak, so was being damaged unnecessarily every time I washed and then brushed it (as wet hair is WAY more fragile and prone to breakage than dry hair). The Wet Detangler offered the perfect solution as it's really gentle and designed specifically to be used on wet hair, gliding easily through any tangles without pulling or breaking. I wish I had this brush when I was a kid! Given my success with the other three Tangle Teezers, I knew I had to complete the collection with the Ultimate Finishing Brush and it did not disappoint. My hair has never looked shinier, glossier or smoother than it does after using this brush. It really is the ultimate way to finish off your hair. Omg AND to top it off, the ranges are all colour coordinated - all my brushes are different shades of pink + look so good together. If you're an aesthetic person, you'll get that this is something to be bragging about.

6.  Bondi Sands Hydra SPF50+ Face Lotion

If you're going to choose only one product to keep your skin looking young, sunscreen is the one I recommend. Products containing SPF are something I try to wear every day, as they provide protection against those pesky UV rays which can do some pretty long-term damage on your skin. However, finding the product with the perfect SPF formula for your face can be difficult. At least it was, until Bondi released their Hydra Range, and Hydra SPF50+ Face Lotion was introduced into my life.

This product protects against both UVA and UVB rays and leaves my skin hydrated, but not at all greasy. It has an invisible finish, is great for my sensitive skin as it doesn't clog pores (so doesn't make you break out), and is fine to be worn under makeup. I absolutely love it!! I got my mum onto this product too, and she's just as obsessed. The only problem is that because it's so popular, it's pretty quick to sell out, so you've got to get in there whenever you get the chance!

7.  RevitaLash Double-Ended Volume Set

I was slightly hesitant about trying this mascara as it has a comparably higher price point to other mascaras we stock at Beauty Bliss. However, I went to a RevitaLash training seminar over lockdown where I found out more about the product and even saw it in action, and needed no more convincing. Unlike any other mascara I'd tried (or even seen), like the name implies, the Double-Ended Volume Set has two mascaras in one: it has a blue mascara which works as a primer that you layer until your desired volume is achieved; and then you apply the traditional black mascara on top.

This perhaps unusual sounding combination really does work!! The brushes and formula are designed specifically for each other so that upon application, your eyelashes are never clumped but are always evenly and perfectly coated. The result is long, lengthened lashes that look as full as you want them, depending on how many coats you use. Because it's smudge proof, it lasts all day with little fall out or flaking, but washes over really easily with warm water which I love. RevitLash design all their products with the health of your lashes in mind, and being plant-based, it makes me happy that the formula is vegan and cruelty free (which many mascaras aren't).
